The FEI World Championships Aachen 2026, an extraordinary event at the Allianz Park, have just come to a close. But with these spectacular and emotional images fresh in our minds, our attention is already turning to next year’s highlight: CHIO Aachen 2027.
The countdown is on: The Opening Ceremony of CHIO Aachen 2027 is scheduled to take place in less than 300 days’ time on 29 June, 2027. The first competitions in Vaulting and, for the first time, Para Dressage even commence prior to that, on 25 June. After a special tournament year, the traditional World Equestrian Festival will return to its familiar format next year – with its unique atmosphere and a programme that once again promises world-class sport as well as featuring two new special additions.
Trusted CHIO Aachen – with important enhancements
The major, significant new addition to the programme is the inclusion of Para Dressage. This discipline worked very well at the FEI World Championships in Aachen, enriching the sporting programme with an important, inclusive perspective. “The performances of the Para Dressage riders in combination with their horses inspired us and the audience, demonstrating that this sport deserves its fixed place in international equestrian sport,” emphasised Birgit Rosenberg, Board Member of the Aachen-Laurensberger Rennverein.
A further new feature awaits the dressage spectators on Wednesday, 30 June. For the first time, the programme is to be complemented by a masterclass organised by the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS. In the course of the masterclass, Isabell Werth will personally demonstrate how she works with her horses and where she places the emphasis of her training. The most successful rider of all time will thus offer the audience exceptional added value and exclusive insights into her training.
Exciting insights by Ingrid Klimke
For everyone, who doesn’t want to wait that long until their next visit to the Allianz Park, another highlight awaits them in just a few months: On 21 November, Ingrid Klimke will also be hosting a masterclass in the festively decorated Albert-Vahle-Arena in the scope of the CHIO Aachen CAMPUS. Under the motto “Ride for your own joy,” the Olympic team gold medallist and riding master will not only share her own experiences with horses, but also her training methods and offer insights into her philosophy.
The joyful anticipation starts now
The FEI World Championships Aachen 2026 impressively demonstrated recently the enthusiasm that the equestrian sport can generate in Germany. Be there when this story and this euphoria continue in Aachen.
CHIO Aachen 2027 is being staged from 25 June to 4 July, 2027.
